Hab\u00eda cumplido s\u00f3lo 23 a\u00f1os cuando dio a conocer su primer libro, Pachamama, que obtuvo el 2.o premio en el concurso literario municipal de su ciudad natal. A partir de ese momento trabaj\u00f3 con intensidad y public\u00f3 Tonadas de la piel (1956), que mereci\u00f3 el premio instituido por el editor Gildo D\u2019 Accurzio, Antolog\u00eda de Juan (1958) con dibujos de Carlos Alonso, del cual acaba de darse a conocer la segunda edici\u00f3n, Los compadres del horizonte (1961), que logr\u00f3 la primer recomendaci\u00f3n del jurado en el segundo concurso literario auspiciado por la Casa de las Am\u00e9ricas, de Cuba, y en 1963 Ah\u00ed va Lucas Romero, que alcanza ahora la tercera edici\u00f3n. Tiene adem\u00e1s varios libros in\u00e9ditos. La poes\u00eda de Tejada G\u00f3mez parece surgir como torrente de la propia tierra. Tiene un profundo contenido del que trasciende su preocupaci\u00f3n por el hombre y sus problemas. Ha sabido trasladar a una poes\u00eda de riqueza l\u00edrica excepcional, de alto valor est\u00e9tico, el dolor de los seres humanos, los sucesos de su diario vivir, el r\u00e9gimen social que los golpea inmisericorde. Sin duda, Tejada G\u00f3mez es uno de los grandes poetas argentinos. Se comprende que Pablo Neruda, cuando ley\u00f3 Ah\u00ed va Lucas Romero, sin conocer al autor dijera: \u00abMe parece un documento de belleza y contenido excepcional\u00bb.
