La infancia de Jes\u00fas, hasta ahora la \u00faltima novela del Premio Nobel sudafricano J. M. Coetzee, se pregunta esto todo el tiempo. \u201cDos y dos podr\u00edan ser tres, cinco o noventa y nueve, si quisi\u00e9ramos\u201d, dice un personaje, y otro le contesta: \u201cSi dos y dos fuesen tres todo se hundir\u00eda en el caos. Nos hallar\u00edamos en otro universo, con otras leyes f\u00edsicas. En el universo existente, dos y dos son cuatro. Es una regla universal, independiente de nosotros, no hecha por el hombre. Aunque t\u00fa y yo dejemos de existir, dos y dos seguir\u00e1n siendo cuatro\u201d. La respuesta de Coetzee parece ser que, por m\u00e1s que intentemos proponernos una historia alternativa, el elemento humano nos llevar\u00e1 a enfrentarnos siempre con los mismos interrogantes y con los mismos conflictos: la naturaleza del trabajo, el l\u00edmite de los deseos, los dilemas morales, el misterio de la muerte, el sentido de la vida.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>J.
