Pater Noster es la historia de una chica que busca la raz\u00f3n por la que su difunto padre, un prestigioso cient\u00edfico que estaba en las quinielas para el premio Nobel, abandon\u00f3 todo a ra\u00edz de un misterioso descubrimiento en su laboratorio, y se traslad\u00f3 a un peque\u00f1o pueblo de Castilla para buscar datos sobre un hecho referido en una carta enviada por un monje al emperador Carlos V. Parece que el hecho pudo cambiar la historia de Occidente. La carta cuenta la historia de un franciscano del siglo XIV (el Pater), el cual parece que era inmune a la Peste Negra que mat\u00f3, probablemente, a la mitad de la poblaci\u00f3n europea. Se trata de un personaje \u00e9pico que fue maestro de teolog\u00eda a la vez que h\u00e9roe de romances. Los romances antiguos narran c\u00f3mo este franciscano de complexi\u00f3n gigantesca lucha contra moros e incluso reta al Diablo a singular combate. En cambio el manuscrito lo presenta como un sabio predicador que ejerce la caridad.La novela alterna el di\u00e1logo entre personajes actuales (la hija del cient\u00edfico y las personas con que se encuentra, el propio cient\u00edfico con sus familiares y colegas en su tiempo, etc.) con fragmentos de la carta que estos mismos leen y van cambiando su opini\u00f3n sobre los hechos. Personajes de muy diversa \u00edndole van tratando de explicar el enigma desde sus puntos de vista (cient\u00edfico, religioso, esot\u00e9rico, etc.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
